The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority is one of the founding members of the association “Via Querinissina – Dal Mito alla Storia” set up in Venice in order to support and promote a new European cultural route along the route followed by Pietro Querini between 1431 and 1432, which connects Southern and Northern Europe, in order to narrate and understand today’s Europe through the knowledge of the past.
The project is promoted by the Veneto region and the founding members include: Nordland County Council Region (Norway), Västra Götaland Region (Sweden), Municipality of Cadice (Spain), Venerabile Confraternita del Baccalà alla vicentina (Italy), Pro loco di Sandrigo (Italy), CERS Italia (Italy).
In 2021 there were 45 cultural routes of the Council of Europe,focused on very different aspects illustrating the memory, history and European heritage and contributing to the interpretation of the diversity of today’s Europe. “Via Querinissima” would be the first European cultural route including a long sea route and represents a challenge in which a very important step will certainly take place inNordland in 2024, when the Norwegian city of Bodø will be a European Capital of Culture.
