To carry out work involving the use of toxic gases in the port area or in the maritime public domain (APV Order No. 173/2003), the interested company must request the issuance of an annual authorization.
Requirements
- Registration in the AdSP register – art. 68 C.N.;
- Submission of the following documentation as indicated in the Order:
- Copy of the insurance coverage policy;
- List of employees who will perform treatments at the port of Venice;
- Copy of the identity document of the company’s administrator;
- Copy of the authorization from the Mayor of the Municipality where the company is headquartered;
- Copy of the acceptance by a freelance professional of the role of Technical Director of the company;
- * Description of the operations for which authorization is requested;
- Copies of licenses for the use of toxic gases for operational personnel;
- Site plan of the port area managed by the port company where the interventions will take place;
- Copy of the coordination agreement with the hosting port company for the assessment of interference risks (D.U.V.R.I.) in which it will operate;
- Extract from the “fumigation manual” prepared for internal use;
- Copy of the appointment of the Occupational Health Physician (Competent Doctor);
- Copy of the appointment of the R.S.P.P. (Person Responsible for Prevention and Protection);
- Copy of the appointment of the Technical Manager;
- Copies of adhesive labels applied to the container.
How to Request Authorization
The interested company must request the issuance of an annual authorization (download the form here) by sending an application with a €16.00 stamp duty to the Port System Authority – Safety, Surveillance, and Control Area, Building 13, 30123 Venice.
The documentation listed above, as stipulated by APV Order No. 173/2003, marked with “*“, does not need to be provided as it is already required in the registration process for the AdSP register pursuant to art. 68 C.N..
NASPA will notify the interested company, after consultation with the Harbor Master’s Office and, if necessary, with regard to competence, the ULSS (Local Health Authority) and/or the Port Chemist, of the issuance of the annual authorization, which is only valid for operations at the specified port company in the request.
If the company intends to use toxic gases in areas of other companies, it must submit a separate application for each of them.
