The Port Community System of Venice
LogIS (Logistics Inforamtion System) is a web-based computer platform consisting of a series of dedicated application modules, primarily focusing on:
- handling “ship formalities” with the relevant authorizations
- monitoring and managing port activities as defined by the Port Authority’s tasks under Law No. 84 of 1994
- security
The entities involved include all the operators within the port community who play a role in the maritime-port-logistics and transportation cluster, such as the Harbor Master’s Office, Maritime Agents, Freight Forwarders, Pilots, Terminal Operators, Mooring Companies, and Tugboat Operators.
Compatibility and Expansion
All components of LogIS are integrated into a single platform. LogIS can be considered the “single window” of the Port of Venice.
LogIS is also open to communication with third-party applications through a dedicated Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) component, allowing integration with the operational systems of operators.
