The Port Authority has welcomed the invitation of “Confindustria Venezia-Rovigo” and “Assindustria Veneto Centro” to become a partner in a project aimed at promoting the greater Padua-Rovigo-Treviso-Venice area as “Capital of Business Culture” in 2022.
After participating in a national call for projects, the two regional sections of Italy’s employers’ federation Confindustria were officially selected at end of 2021 and are now working together with regional public and private players to develop a calendar of events connected to the five focus areas of the project, namely: shipbuilding, fishing, food and wine, footwear and industrial clusters. These are the five “symbolic containers” that will be used to narrate the multiple facets of an industrial culture that has survived the centuries, aptly and repeatedly adapting to major transformations along the way.
The overall programme enhances activities on which the Port Authority is already working to substantiate objectives, actions and interventions envisaged in the port’s three-year plan POT 2022-2024. That includes strengthening partnerships with local players in order to develop synergies, foster joint commitment and maximise results around common goals such as, in this case, the promotion of the rich port-maritime cultural heritage that the Veneto port system can boast
