About 200 children witnessed the success of the project conceived and produced by Nadia De Lazzari through her Association “Venezia Pesce di Pace” (Venice, Fish of Peace), in the presence of local authorities and representatives from the involved countries. They received the book containing all the drawings created by the young students from Venice, Istanbul, Beirut, and Messini.
The Honorary Consuls of Lebanon and Greece, alongside the greetings from their colleague representing Turkey, emphasized how the peace messages from the young Venetians have reached their peers in countries plagued by various challenges, helping them face daily life with a spirit of peace.
Venice, represented by Municipal Councillor Massimo De Martin and the President of the Ports of Venice and Chioggia Fulvio Lino Di Blasio, welcomed and thanked the students for bringing their innocence into an adult world, expressing the hope of being able to take inspiration from the youngest to govern the territory with a renewed approach, free of prejudices.
The sea, a strong connection among the involved cities, was depicted in numerous drawings collected in the book that concludes the project, which was given to all the children present and – for the first time in the history of the Association – is also available in bookstores.
Special guests included Giovanni Alliata di Montereale, heir to Count Cini and active in the eponymous Venetian Foundation, to whom the book was dedicated, publisher Davide Livieri, who published the text with the El Squero Venezia publishing house, and Sister Nur, who came directly from Lebanon to testify to the importance of the project.
