Su e Zo per i Ponti 2022

The waterfront of the port of Venice opens to the participants of the short route of the solidarity walk

On the 42nd edition of “Su e Zo per i ponti di Venezia”, scheduled on Sunday 15 May, the waterfront of the Port of Venice opens to the city to welcome the participants in the short route of the traditional Venetian event. For the twenty-second year running, AdSPMAS renews the partnership with TGS Eurogroup, the association for social promotion that organises the solidarity walk to discover Venice.
What in recent years was the “punto porto” placed at gate 34/17 in Santa Marta, becomes an area of collection, control and departure for all those who registered in the 5 km thanks to the commitment of the Port Community, the Port Authority, passing through the Harbour Office, the Financial Police, the Customs and Monopolies Agency, the Border Police, to the Venice Passenger Terminal and all the subjects present and operational in the area. A new departure from the port waterfront for the short route, generally preferred by school groups and families, which is held along 5 km in the historical centre of Venice, crossing 18 bridges, alleys, squares and riverbanks.
There will also be the traditional refreshment area organised at the departure point and following the hygiene-sanitary rules connected with Covid still in force.
“We are a consolidated partner of the walk Su e Zo per i Ponti – comments Fulvio Lino di Blasio, President of the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority – this is the revival year of the event and we can’t wait to welcome families and young people ready to start, right from our waterfront, for 5 km. A goal of the Port Authority is and always will be to bring the waterfront to life to enhance a strategic place of interaction between city and port and it is very important for us to host initiatives like this. The task of our Body is precisely to promote this process of integration with the city as it is to work on the infrastructure and on the assets of port property in the areas which have a strong connection with the city, to guarantee full landscape and functional enhancement as is happening in the former platea Lavaggi area and for the San Nicolò and Molin bridges.”
