The Veneto Port System could not miss Breakbulk Europe, one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to the Breakbulk sector. The event took place in Rotterdam from 6th to 8th June, marking its second consecutive year in the city.
A delegation consisting of 25 representatives from the Port Community, coordinated by the Port System Authority, attended the exhibition with their own dedicated exhibition space. Their presence aimed to promote expertise, know-how, and highlight the strengths that position the Veneto Port System as one of the key players in managing the Breakbulk sector at the European level.
Throughout the event, major shipping companies that have traditionally utilized the two ports engaged with terminal operators, agents, shippers, and logistics operators who specialize in the transportation of exceptional cargo with tailor-made services. Of particular interest were new solutions for the import of steel products. Given the ongoing conflict and associated challenges with flows from Ukraine, the diversified supply markets (including India, China, and Korea) served by Venice and Chioggia ports have helped mitigate potential declines in the sector.
Furthermore, the two ports exhibited steady growth and demonstrated a strong Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) transport segment, which serves the break bulk traffic. These positive trends were confirmed during the meetings held at the exhibition stand.
