Description
The project involves the electrification of the docks at the port of Venice (historic center) and at the commercial port in order to allow the engines of ships to be turned off while parked.
Economics
The cost of the work amounts to €57.6 million for Marghera and €32.2 million for Venice, entirely financed by the Complementary Fund (PNRR).
Objective
The electrification of port docks represents a strategic intervention planned to reduce emissions related to the movement of goods and passengers, promoting the ecological transition of the Italian port system. The Marghera area, a large industrial site, has thermoelectric power plants capable of providing the required power.
