Description
LogIS is the Venice Port Community System officially born in 2006. Although still adequate to the scopes in its general functioning, it needs to be updated to the new requirements of information exchange practise among public administrations and port stakeholders in accordance to the national Digitalization and Digital Transition rules (AgID).
Costs
€ 1.000.000,00 cost of the project PNRR Digitale is financed with NextGeneration EU funds PNRR M3C2 I 2.1, within the overall digitalization strategy of the port Authority.
Objectives
To speed up the process of upgrading and improving functions of the PCS by:
- adapting it to the new architecture/services
- improving its functions and adding new functions as response to the specific needs of the Venice area both on the land and maritime sides (new functions will be added whenever re-using those already existing is not viable)
Benefits
improve management of ships entering/exiting the lagoon in the same slot of time;
enhance information sharing capability of the Venice PCS with the national PLN and other port stakeholders;
develop new functions of the PCS to speed up administrative procedure of customs, shipping agents, terminals and transport operators;
implement the port digital twin (new cartography);
further improve the port accessibility from the land side, by including in the PCS the related administrative procedures.
start port tracking service among road and rail transport operators;
improve interoperability of rail manoeuvring service with national networks;
provide new data base to manage statistics data related to goods transiting the port and related port taxes.
